The 6th graders have started their unit on Ecology learning about the importance and influence of abiotic (non-living) factors on ecosystems. They also learned how these abiotic factors are used to classify large regions of land in a particular biome. Working in pairs they were assigned a biome (tundra, taiga, desert, grassland, temperate forest, and the tropical forest) to research more in depth and to create an informational brochure using Microsoft Publisher. They did a beautiful job on their brochures and learned a lot in the process. Check out some pictures of their brochures below and the bulletin board displaying their work!
